Are you an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) looking for an exciting and meaningful work experience in Manitoba and Nunavut? Do you have a passion to make a difference in the lives of those you care for? We provide a unique way to experience an expanded clinical scope of practice while enjoying an adventure at the same time! Average assignment durations vary from 2 to 6 weeks.

The work you will do:

  • Paramedics will primarily work in clinic-based environments and perform an expanded role in these communities, providing primary and emergency care to all residents – from newborn to elders – through a nursing station / Health Center in a clinic atmosphere.
  • Health Promotion, Assessments, support and implementing care using Best Practice Clinical Practice Guidelines; primary care and emergency care.
  • Working as part of a care-team with nurses in a clinic with urgent/non‐urgent walk‐ins, similar to a walk‐in clinic here as well as primary care follow ups, similar to you going to your doctor’s office for a prescription/test/follow‐up on a condition. They also serve as ER in communities with no ER.
  • Acute and primary care.
  • Ability to think & react quickly and prioritize patient needs. No physicians on site. Must be able to “hit the ground running.”

Who You Are:

  • You are a graduate from an accredited Paramedic Program and are practicing in good standing.
  • You have or are willing to obtain an appropriate license, if applicable, through the regulating body in the province or territory you wish to work.
  • You meet the required work experience.
  • Mandatory skillsets and additional training requirements and reimbursements will be discussed during the interview.

Experience

Required
  • 2 year(s): (1950 hours) or one and half years (1.5) of full-time "on the road" experience or clinic-based experience (i.e., field-based clinics such as oil, mine, gas) in the past two (2) years as an ACP OR (3000 hours) or 2 years of full-time experience as a Paramedic with at least 1 year of recent experience as an ACP.

Required
  • Diploma or better.
