Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Cargo Operations, the Cargo Loadmaster is primarily responsible for preparing and allocating freight on Company flights. Focusing on the Service level agreement to ensure that customer service is met along with on-time performance by following SOPs to ensure that dangerous goods, documentation and shipments are in compliance with TC regulations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Prepare all pre-loads and final loads
- Pick shipments that are on the manifest from the appropriate location in the warehouse
- Ensure that freight is lined up and ready for the Ramp staff
- Store freight that comes back in the appropriate location in the warehouse
- Ensure that all Dangerous Goods leave the warehouse with necessary paperwork
- File all signed load manifests
- Prepare the manifests for upcoming flights
- Ensure that all freight placed on carts is in proper shipping condition
- Label the prepared freight shipments with flight number and section number
- Verify freight back into the warehouse that doesn’t go on flights
- Store freight that comes back in the appropriate location in the warehouse, fridge, freezer, DG area or medical cooler
- Organize and maintain the warehouse
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- Warehousing experience considered an asset
- Knowledge of Amelia computer system considered an asset
- Mathematical skills required to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Forklift experience considered an asset
Working Conditions
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties.
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role.
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions.
- Work performed in multiple environments. Contact with staff and the general public.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to carry and operate a radio.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone.
- Shiftwork may be required (days, evenings and/or night shift).
- Safety equipment where required, e.g. hearing protection, safety vest, and ramp passes when on ramp.
