Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As Manager, Raw Materials Sourcing, you will be responsible for driving supply chain operational excellence within our raw materials supplier base. You will work closely with our Raw Materials teams and grow the capabilities of our Supply Chain team, with a focus on enabling our circularity ecosystem. Arc’teryx has ambitious sustainability goals in the areas of climate, preferred fibers, and textile-to-textile recycling. You will own relationships with current and emergent raw materials suppliers, driving strategic sourcing projects and providing insight and recommendations for sustainable sourcing strategies to continuously improve speed, optimize cost, and best utilize supply chain capability and efficiencies in line with Arc’teryx business goals. You will enable, protect, and challenge our business practices with data, consideration, and teamwork, in line with Arc’teryx business goals.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Raw Materials Sourcing team is part of the Raw Materials organization and includes the Raw Materials Supply Planning team. The team partners closely with finished goods Sourcing and Supply Planning, and our new Asia Sourcing Office teams to grow our business and create a world-class supply chain.

Other teams you will work closely with include Raw Materials Development, Product Development, Design, Quality, Compliance, Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, and Global Planning, to name a few. Your priority is to ensure that our Tier 2 supply chain can deliver on all seasonal commercialization requirements while anticipating the future needs of the business.

If you were the Manager, Raw Materials Sourcing now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Managing the integration and development of cutting-edge circular technologies and suppliers into our supply chain.
  • Leading Tier 2 supply initiatives, including supplier sourcing and onboarding, and collaborating with Raw Materials Development and upstream commercialization partners.
  • Ensuring Tier 2 supply base alignment with the organization’s Strategic Business Plans (SBP) and growth requirements in terms of capacity, service and capability, quality, and overall performance.
  • Supporting negotiation and design of supplier agreements, including but not limited to costing, purchasing, quality, and compliance.
  • Collaborating with the Director, Raw Materials Sourcing in the creation of raw materials sourcing strategy and supplier management processes.
  • Developing and managing Tier 2 supplier onboarding, operational management, and offboarding processes and documentation.
  • Contributing to the management of excess raw materials by exploring supply chain solutions that allow for a responsible end of life.
  • Contributing on behalf of the wider supply chain organization, working closely with cross-functional partners to support process timeline and discipline.
  • Collaborating with our innovation and strategy teams as we integrate circularity into our business.
  • Supporting and applying KPIs to measure raw materials source base performance and report on these as required, providing trends and analysis, and getting to the root cause of any issues.
  • Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy.
  • Upholding the Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain.
  • Collaborating with sourcing partners at AMER and ANTA Sports to find process efficiencies, cost savings, and sustainability best practices for the brand.
  • Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually).

  • Building a robust textile-to-textile recycling network and ensuring a responsible end to our product.
  • Collaborating with our re:Bird team on garment collection strategies.
  • Building a resilient supply chain that can respond quickly to natural disasters and geopolitical disturbances.

Are you our next Manager, Raw Materials Sourcing?

  • You have 5+ years of experience in the technical apparel and equipment industry with a focus on sourcing/manufacturing, including 3+ years of experience leading teams. A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields is a plus.
  • You can think strategically and balance the needs of multiple cross-functional teams.
  • You are an advanced user of Microsoft Excel and can process and analyze large datasets.
  • You are capable of data modeling and process mapping system and commercialization activities.
  • You can leverage your understanding of ERP and ERPII systems both as a user and as part of an implementation team.
  • You know when to use your voice and take a stand on important ethical and sustainability issues that impact our business.
  • You understand the value of data to drive decision-making and have a desire to employ the latest in data management technologies across an organization.
  • You have strong financial acumen and the ability to develop financial models and report to leadership.
  • Fluency in Mandarin or Japanese is a plus.
  • You are proactive in identifying the root causes of issues and developing solutions.
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration.
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.

Compensation: $104,000 - $130,000 a year. This range reflects the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits.
