As we continue to grow, Libro is on a mission to find a passionately accountable full-time Senior Accountant supporting our London Administration office.
The Senior Accountant collaborates with all members of the Finance team and directly supports the Accounting Manager and will serve as a backup to the Accounting Manager. The Senior Accountant provides specialized support and advice to administration and branch network on accounting and reporting related matters, including accounting, audit, financial reporting, and tax compliance. The Senior Accountant will possess a strong understanding of how Libro Credit Union’s information system, general ledger, and accounting standards integrate.
This role is eligible for Libro’s work from home program, ideally working in office once a week.

The Successful Candidate Will
- Ensure accurate reporting of Libro’s financial results, in accordance with IFRS accounting standards. This includes Libro’s internal financial statements and detailed reporting provided to management and other stakeholders.
- Creates routine and non-routine reports, forecasts or graphs specifically tailored to individual team needs, aiding in the interpretation and decision making that results.
- Create and monitor reporting and outcomes related to investment shares, profit shares, month-end and year-end procedures; ensuring completion is timely, discrepancies are identified and resolved, and compliance with internal policies.
- Prepares working papers to support audit and compliance requirements by using specialized accounting knowledge and understanding external stakeholder needs
- Works and communicates regularly with cross functional teams to support internal and external audits; Acts as a subject matter expert for the finance team on CRA regulations, ensuring compliance with the Excise Tax Act and recommending changes to processes to support requirements.
- Assists with CRA audits and Sales tax reviews by leveraging detailed knowledge of relevant acts and CRA regulations.
- Recommends and implements changes to accounting and operational processes in order to enhance efficiency based on the results of financial analysis performed
- Provides guidance to other accounting and financial operations staff on IFRS, tax, and audit expertise.
- Liaises with branch teams and Owner facing staff on financial accounts and reporting issues, providing ongoing support to resolve matters timely.

- Do you have a post-secondary degree in Business, Finance or Economics?
- Do you have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards it?
- Do you have 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting department, financial institution, with a strong understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
