Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant

Position Overview

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region. Whispering Ridge Community School is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and collaborative environment. We invite applications for a Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant (27 Hours/Week). The Educational Assistant works under the supervision of a certificated teacher.

This position will be working with a student in grade 1 who has complex needs as well as providing early literacy and numeracy intervention to small groups.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Educational Assistant Diploma is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid would be considered an asset.
• Experience working with children in a classroom/organized setting is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care.
• Willingness to work collaboratively is incredibly important.
• Ability to meet outside of school hours.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Prior experience will be considered an asset.

Terms of Employment

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, ranging from $20.06/hour to $26.41/hour.
