Oil Blending Plant Operator

Job Summary: The Oil Blending Plant Operator is responsible for managing blending operations at the oil processing and blending plant facility to ensure the proper composition and quality. This role involves monitoring equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining product quality, and optimizing plant performance.
Location: Grande Prairie, AB
Starting Rate: $35-$45/hr depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee blending processes to ensure accurate and efficient mixing of gas products.
- Monitor equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning during blending operations.
- Perform quality control checks to verify product specifications are met.
- Adjust valves, pumps, and controls to achieve target blends.
- Conduct routine inspections and schedule preventative maintenance on plant systems.
- Document blending operations, maintaining accurate records of production data and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the production and quality control teams to troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues.
- Report daily plant activities, produce reports and monitor inventory.
Requirements:
- 5th Class or higher Power Engineering certification would be considered an asset.
- H2S Alive
- Alberta Standard First Aid & CPR/AED with BC Work Endorsement
- Class 5 Driver’s license
- Previous experience with blending or oil processing is beneficial.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and hazardous materials.
- Capability to lift heavy equipment and climb ladders as needed.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends, based on operational needs.
