Director of CAT Response – Insurance Claims

Overview
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, the Director of CAT Response will provide direct oversight and management of our catastrophic event response. This role will be a key member of the National Operations Management team and work directly with region management, our Business Development team, and individual adjusters.
Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities
- Ability to translate organizational strategy into operational outcomes
- Development and implementation of CAT plan and protocols
- claims management; methods of intake, scoping/estimating, and settlement options
- Monitoring of weather patterns and events to ensure our teams are prepared and clients are aware of our abilities to support them
- Negotiate CAT contract terms and SLAs during CAT events and cater to clients changing needs
- Work with clients CAT circumstances and understand impact and requirements and pivot accordingly
- Project management experience; coordination within the management and adjusting teams.
- Performance tracking and oversight on corrective plans linked to KPI’s
- Lead a national team of CAT adjusters to ensure seamless response to catastrophic events
- Oversee relationships with external vendor partners, ensuring service levels are maintained during CAT events
- Provide direct oversight and mentorship to the CAT Operations Manager
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing timely updates, and addressing their evolving needs
- Proven ability of working effectively in a collaborative environment with operations, business development, and corporate groups (IT, HR, Accounting) to achieve required outcome with clients and insureds
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written
- Energetic and the ability to function in a team environment as well as lead it
- Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
- Ability to travel on short notice after an event occurs
Education and Experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in Claims Management
- CAT claims management; methods of intake, scoping/estimating, and settlement options
- Comfortable with and experienced in handling multiple projects and constantly changing schedules and priorities
- Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized institution
- Professional designation, CIP or CRM is an asset
