About Us

The Brescia School of Food and Nutritional Sciences offers programs in two areas of expertise, Foods and Nutrition and Family Studies and Human Development. Our Family Studies and Human Development undergraduate programs offer students an interdisciplinary education, which includes exploring societal factors that inform individuals, couples, and families’ experiences and gaining skills to positively impact families in our community. Our curriculum embodies a commitment to experiential, reflective, and transformative learning, and provides an extensive offering of courses that encompasses all areas of family studies and human development. The School has excellent teaching and research facilities and through our institutional and community partnerships, offers a practical education to meet recognized qualifications in both professional and education sectors.

Course Information

A study of nutritional requirements from conception to senescence. Discussion of food habits and nutrition intervention programs in relation to the stages of the lifecycle. Please Note: This course is 100% online and asynchronous. You will also be co-teaching with another instructor.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold at least a master’s degree in a nutrition-related field — Ph.D. (completed or in progress) preferred; registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and/or practical work experience in food and nutrition are assets; university-level teaching experience in the subject area preferred.

Course offerings could be assigned to the workload of full-time faculty or to part-time faculty with seniority or preference rights in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, or left unfilled based on operational/enrolment requirements. All positions are subject to budget approval.
