Position Overview
The Senior Engineer will perform engineering tasks in support of fixed wing / rotary wing aircraft by conducting structural analysis for aircraft modification and Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP). The Senior engineer may work individually or as part of a larger team and may be called upon to coordinate or lead engineering projects. The Senior engineer is expected to mentor and supervise junior and intermediate engineers.

The Senior engineer is expected to mentor and supervise junior and intermediate engineers.
What You Will Do
- Support the CP140 Aurora, CC130H Hercules and/or CH149 Cormorant Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP) including conducting data analysis;
- Participate in, or lead aircraft modification design projects;
- Participate in or lead aircraft test projects;
- Design and substantiate non-standard repairs;
- Perform structural analyses of repairs and modifications to aircraft structures;
- Conduct Durability and Damage Tolerance Analyses (D/DTA);
- Prepare or review formal Reports and other engineering deliverables;
- Coordinate or lead engineering projects;
- Prepare engineering cost estimates;
- Prepare certification plans, compliance programs and establish basis of certification for civilian and military modifications;
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers; and
- Other duties as tasked/required.
- Bachelors, Masters or PH.D in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Over 7 years’ experience in military or commercial aircraft or industry or an equivalent engineering experience.
- Excellent knowledge of aircraft structures
- Familiar with aircraft engineering drawings
- Knowledge of classical stress analysis
- Finite element modelling and analysis
- Fatigue analysis and damage tolerance analyses
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of the MS Office and MS Windows environments
- Knowledge of project management concepts
- Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
- Experience with one or more of the following is an asset:
- Strain gauges and/or vibration monitoring equipment and systems
- Collection, reduction, analysis and trending of engineering data
- Drafting
- Design
- On-aircraft testing
- Computer programming and databases
- Knowledge of military or commercial certification
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
