We have an exciting opportunity for a leader to play a key role in defining, realizing, and leveraging the ICBC's future technology vision. As Senior Enterprise Architect, you will build on securing ICBC's existing business system investments to ensure we provide efficient, customer-driven, affordable and future-focused solutions. In this role, you will deliver IT strategies, IT strategic planning and IT advisory services to all of IT which includes creating reference architectures, technology standards and making sure solutions are well architected to support ICBC's hybrid cloud environment. This role is part of the Enterprise Architecture team that has accountability for oversight and guidance for all ICBC IT systems that serves our lines of business.

Position Requirements

To make an immediate contribution, you will draw on your experience working with medium to large sized organizations to understand the business direction and develop and implement architectural practices and technologies to support ICBC's strategic migration to cloud . You bring demonstrated experience:

  • Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.
  • Absorbing large amounts of information, analyzing and synthesizing the key ideas and recommendations, and effectively applying your understanding to drive technology and architectural decisions;
  • Work as a trusted advisor to IT teams and help shape technology modernization and other migration to cloud initiatives.
  • Deliver Reference Architecture and technology standards for enterprise-wide adoption.
  • Cloud certification and a deep understanding and hands-on experience in AWS and Azure native services would strongly support your effectiveness in this role together with application of the Well Architected Framework (WAF) in your past delivery.

Technical Skills

  • One or more of the following certifications: The Open Group's TOGAF, (Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with the following Regulations, Standards and Frameworks:
  • Payment Card Industry's Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS)
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Privacy Principles (best practices)
  • International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001/2
  • National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
  • Data privacy requirements (FOIPPA) and provincial and federal regulations
  • Expert in Visio, PowerPoint and technical documentation.

Position Information

  • ICBC provides comprehensive and flexible benefit coverage to all eligible employees including a defined benefit pension plan.
  • Three options of health and dental coverage. Two of those options fully paid by ICBC and with access to Flex credits.
  • 100% employer paid life insurance, long term disability and travel insurance.
  • Sick leave plan – 100% of pay for a period of a maximum of 8 weeks plus 85% of your pay for a subsequent period of up to 9 weeks.

Work Arrangements Defined

  • Resident – you will work at your primary in-office headquarters on all scheduled work days.
  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
  • Hybrid 10 – you will work a minimum of 10 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically one week in/one week out or up to 3 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
  • Mobile – you will work a significant amount of time in the field, in addition to working from an office and optionally working remotely within British Columbia.
