Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Stores and Distribution Attendant is responsible for unpacking, validating, storing, replenishing and distributing a variety of supplies and/or materials within the facility.
What you’ll do
- Unload and unpack stock, equipment, and material, match items to the requisitions. Identify and record any discrepancies. Sort and place items in the appropriate location.
- Fill internal and external department requisitions by picking, assembling and delivering the supplies/goods.
- Transport stock and materials to the required areas. Deliver supplies to internal or external departments by performing duties such as picking up items from specified locations, complete and log required service request paperwork, transport of supplies and materials.
- Rotate stock and check for expiry dates in the warehouse and the supply rooms.
- Replenish supply room stock based on established minimum/maximum levels; making adjustments to stock items as per established guidelines. Make recommendations for changes to inventory items and/or levels.
- Perform physical inventory counts.
- Keep assigned areas in a clean and tidy condition in the warehouse and supply rooms.
- Complete all related forms and maintains records as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Grade 10 plus six months recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills & Knowledge
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Deal with others effectively.
- Organize work.
- Operate related equipment.
- Physically carry out the duties of the position.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type
Casual (Casual is defined as on call with no guaranteed hours. Shifts can be called out via short call (1-5 hours of notice) or pre-booked).
Wage
$24.34 / Hour + 13% in lieu
