The Opportunity:
The Pharmacy Team Lead - Retina has primary responsibility for supporting the Pharmacy Manager with the daily operations of the pharmacy’s Retina prescription program. The Pharmacy Team Lead – Retina acts as the main point of contact for designated Retina clinics and provides daily oversight and guidance to pharmacy staff to ensure that Retina prescription workflow is completed within required timelines. The Pharmacy Team Lead – Retina also works with clinic staff and other stakeholders to provide exemplary customer service and clinic support, while working with management to address and resolve clinic concerns. In addition, the Pharmacy Team Lead – Retina will assist management with implementation of new clinics, process changes and staff training. The Pharmacy Team Lead - Retina is expected to participate in all aspects of Sentrex Pharmacy required of a team player. All roles at Sentrex Pharmacy may be cross-trained as permitted by scope of practice, and you may be required to help out in other areas of the pharmacy.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here):
- Provides daily oversight to ensure that prescription workflow for designated Retina clinics is completed in a timely manner and according to clinic specifications
- Organizes pharmacy work according to order priority and communicates priority to pharmacy team
- Acts as the main point of contact to answer questions related to designated clinics from clinic, field and pharmacy staff while appropriately escalating concerns to the Pharmacy Manager
- Perform Pharmacy Assistant duties and responsibilities including prescription entry/labelling/packaging, preparing shipping reports, following up on insurance billing issues including test billing and rebilling, answering phones, scanning/filing of paperwork and arranging courier deliveries
- Supports the Pharmacy Manager with scheduling of the team as required
- Assists management with staff training and mentoring
- Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operation procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Actively contribute to the ongoing review of policies and procedures as they pertain to pharmacy operations
- Attends and participates in staff meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
- Post secondary diploma from Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy Technician program
- Licensed pharmacy professional with provincial pharmacy college is strongly preferred
- Experience in a team lead or supervisory role strongly preferred
- Must have at least 2 years experience in a pharmacy setting
- Proficiency with Kroll required
- Strong computer skills in Windows environments and MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required. Ability to communicate in other languages an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of specialty medications along with third party billing issues is strongly preferred
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to self-manage time, set daily priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Ability to physically stand for extended periods of time, and to lift and move up to 50 pounds
