Role reports to- Director of Customer Strategy

Location- Markham, Canada

Travel %- 10%

What You Will Do

As a Customer Strategy Lead – Essential Health, you will lead a team of individuals responsible for the development and implementation of customer and channel strategies for a portfolio of beloved consumer brands and categories. You will work collaboratively to build and execute innovative strategies that drive industry-leading category growth for key strategic customers, keeping both brand and customer priorities in mind. Your responsibilities will include coordinating cross-functional initiatives, optimizing retail and channel-specific programs, and contributing to forecasting and planning processes to deliver superior results. Categories include- Hair Care, Oral Care, and Wound Care

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach direct report(s) who are responsible to develop & execute innovative channel, customer and trade strategies to achieve financial targets within their Stronghold.
  • Establish differentiated Omni-channel (including e-commerce) and customer strategies that achieve the business goals and financial targets for assigned portfolio, including strategies that increase return on investment based on trade fundamentals
  • Lead the execution plans of new product launches, developing external launch strategies and managing execution within the Sales organization
  • Build long-term, externally focused strategic plans, including 3 year operating plans that bring together a cohesive customer story for your categories
  • Work cross-functionally to analyze category/competitor behaviour to identify opportunities. Ensure risks and opportunities are identified to senior leadership in a timely manner and decisions are made quickly
  • Drive in-year business performance including gap closure activities and optimization

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business or a related field.
  • 8 years of business/professional experience is required with a minimum of 5 years experience within the Canadian Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of Customer Strategy experience on Hair Care
  • Minimum 2 years experience customer-facing account management with a major Canadian retailer
  • Demonstrated leadership in achieving outstanding sales results
  • Proven ability to influence multiple levels and functions within and across the organization.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with strong critical thinking and logic capability.
  • Knowledge or experience in forecasting and/or monthly volume reporting and analysis.
  • In-depth Knowledge of consumer sales, channels, and Canadian retailers.
  • Proven track record to present sophisticated information in a concise and succinct manner to deliver key messages
  • Experience using organizational resources, tools, and processes effectively.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer-facing and channel strategy roles is an asset.
  • Proficiency with NIQ, Numerator, and Tableau/PowerBI tools is an asset.
