Summary

The Security Clearance Coordinator will be a member of the Corporate Security team, and will support the personnel screening program in compliance with both BGIS corporate policies/contracts, and various BGIS client Master Service Agreements (MSAs).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review, document, process, and facilitate BGIS team member and contractor personnel screening requests, and provide oversight in relation to personnel security screening compliance.
  • Support applicants through the BGIS screening process through positive engagement and clear guidance.
  • Support the risk assessment process by proactively identifying applicant risks, and proposing ways to mitigate those risks.
  • Maintain a current list of screened individuals in accordance with contractual agreements and BGIS internal policies.
  • Ensure that individuals working at client sites or with clients are briefed concerning any relevant security or clearance requirements.
  • Ensure that personnel screening files are properly safeguarded.
  • Oversee the contract security clauses and ensure that all security requirements are adhered to.
  • Administer the security orientation and training program as required.
  • Interface with clients and contractor/service providers on security related issues.
  • Act as a BGIS representative with clients and vendors to ensure that security issues are properly addressed and properly coordinated.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain PSPC Reliability Status
  • Knowledge of supporting basic security disciplines, including document control, visit certifications, and personnel security processing.
  • Knowledge and a working understanding of general personnel security screening documentation and results such as but not limited to CPIC and Credit Reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information and engage people at various levels - both verbally and through written communications.
  • Demonstrated and thorough experience using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel Spreadsheets and various databases.
  • Must be dependable, responsive, customer-focused and possessing the qualities of diplomacy, tact, excellent judgment, discretion and initiative and perform in a multi-tasked and dynamic environment.
  • Requires the ability to make sound decisions, manage time, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in French (written and spoken) preferred.


Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • Hold (or willing to and able to obtain) RCMP Reliability security clearance
