THE POSITION

The successful Director of Software Development works for the homebuilding industry’s leading software provider to deliver modern, competitive, and practical ERP solutions to the industry.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the voice of the customer, implementation teams (technical and business), and 1st level helpdesk to the product team.
• Governance of the program’s strategies and processes in alignment with business objectives
• Governance of the program’s business controls to meet compliance and audit standards
• Planning the program and its underlying projects – program execution, high level product roadmap, risk mitigation, issue management.
• Financial control and planning of complex program management
• Planning and delivery of program infrastructure and standards, technical framework, and technical approaches
• Responsible for strategic and operational communications with stakeholders and customers
• Responsible for ERP quality, throughput, documentation, and deploy-ability that profitably delivers competitive advantage
• Leadership in growing, acquiring, and releasing staff globally
• Mentoring of product leaders
• Facilitating agreements with suppliers
• Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, at least twice / quarter
  
  

Qualifications:

• University degree in Computer Science or related field
• Leadership calibre customer-facing presentation and interaction skills
• Extensive background in leading software development and software operational support (10+ years), including skills in multiple methodologies and modern IT practices
• Background of being formally accountable for leading and scaling IT teams (50+ full-time equivalents) in distributed team environments, including onshore/offshore experience
• Led digital transformational efforts, including having completed multiple implementations of packaged software, custom software, integrations, and hardware/networking architectures
• Familiarity with cloud, hybrid, and on-prem architectures, including scalable, deployable, and supportable systems design
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and the commercial value they represent to spur on innovation.
• Skilled in developing and evolving product roadmaps that are integrated with detailed product plans
• Knowledge of DevOps processes, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
• Strong understanding of project management, business controls to pass audits, security best practices, and accessibility standards
• Advanced-level skills in communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and collaboration
• Experienced in resource planning, cost optimization, and budgeting
