Associate Vice President, Paint & Home Repair

What you’ll do
The Associate Vice President, Paint & Home Repair is a product focused, results driven, customer centric leader who can champion the development of a best-in-class assortment and experience for our customers. This leader will need to have strong product knowledge, a proven ability to activate customer data and analytics in strategy development and business management, and an ability to identify, develop and execute new business opportunities through an omni channel approach that will grow our consumer base and maximize financial returns to the business.
- Manage a team of high performing category managers by providing leadership, coaching and development; ensure entire team is focused on delivering against key priorities.
- Build the best product assortments while leading inventory management discipline for all categories to ensure the team is consistently meeting or exceeding sales, margin, and inventory targets.
- Lead collaboration between Category management teams and cross functional support teams to enable the development and execution of category strategies and programs that are grounded in a deep understanding of industry trends, customer data and market opportunities.
- Lead a team to understand opportunities in new markets and provide analysis/recommendations for pursuing them.
- Build and manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the annual planning, seasonal planning, assortment management and line review processes within Home Comfort and Hardware.
- Accountabilities include sales and margin growth, establishment and management of line reviews, advertising planning and inventory forecast validation management.
What you bring
- 10 years of experience in the retail industry; as a buyer, in-store operations, marketing, merchandising, finance or as a consumer-packaged goods vendor; ideally direct category management/merchandising experience.
- At least 5 years leadership/management experience with a strong propensity for team building, coaching and mentoring.
- Proven ability to develop, manage and motivate a top caliber team around a compelling vision.
- Highly effective relationship management skills with a track record of developing, selling and executing programs collaboratively.
- Thorough understanding of the business, growth, change management, systems and process management.
- Strong financial acumen and strategic mindset.
- Superb collaboration, joint problem solving and influencing skills.
- Strong track record of driving results and performance transformation.
- University Degree preferred.
