Reporting to the CDO, the Leader will be responsible to lead and mature the Data & AI/ML Governance, production Order and Records Management functions at Interac. They will work with internal data analytics consumers, product leaders, functional stakeholders and partners to further our maturity in these domains. The individual must thrive in this exciting pace of data growth, change, and bridge the gap between the technology, data analytics and business context. There may be competing interests and the incumbent will have to exercise sound judgement in making recommendations for approval up to the very senior levels of leadership at Interac. The individual should be able to prioritize business asks, issues, escalations and take it through proper channel of resolution.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Providing thought leadership and vision for all aspects of Data & AI/ML Governance, considering a constantly evolving landscape of privacy, legal, customer consent, internal needs, and industry best practices.

  • Working closely with Corporate Function partners, Product, other technology departments to implement our enterprise data and AI governance strategy and drive the adoption of our Data Governance program.

  • Ensuring that Data & AI/ML Governance is a key enabler in mitigating and managing Interac’s data risk appropriately to reflect our unique position in the industry.

  • Ensuring current/future Interac products and platforms are all built with a governed data foundation that results in trusted and usable data assets.

  • Providing oversight to Enterprise Document and Records Management (EDRM) function, and Production Order process - develop and champion leading-edge Data Governance, Records Mgmt practices, serve as a central point of contact for all DG/EDRM initiatives, build out capabilities, and support adoption.

  • Ensuring established DG objectives are “right-sized” for Interac and create business value: making recommendations, gaining alignment across the enterprise, and obtaining overall approval from the data councils and steering committees.

  • Implementing a Data Quality/Data Observability process & technology to elevate the quality of data across the organization.

  • Implementing aspects of AI/ML governance including ML Model lifecycle management, governance oversight of AI/Gen-AI solutions.

  • Staying up to date on current industry trends, governance methodologies, technological advancements and being proactive about assessing the impact to Interac of these changes.

You bring:

  • 10-12 years experience at a senior level in developing, maintaining effective data and analytics governance policies, standards and practices.

  • A graduate degree in Business, Engineering, Information Management or a related field.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  • Familiarity with key platforms/Technologies such as Alation, AWS, Collibra, Cyera.

  • Solid understanding and experience of concepts such as Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Classification & Protection, Data Quality and observability, Model Governance, Data Analytics Risk Mgmt.

  • Knowledge of Financial Services & Payments Industry.

  • Demonstration of leadership skills, Product Management, Strategy & planning, problem resolution, decision making, people management, relationship building and excellent oral/written and presentation skills.
