JOB SUMMARY

Assist Store Manager and Manager In Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel to achieve sales goals, control expenses, and protect company assets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance
• Assist in recruiting and hiring high caliber employees
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees
• Ensure all company initiatives are properly implemented
• Recognize and develop talented staff for growth within the company
• Supervise daily store operations in absence of Store Manager and Manager In Training
• Supervise Loss Prevention practices in absence of Store Manager and Manager In Training
• Effectively communicate all store needs
• Resolve customer issues effectively
• Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers
• Complete bank deposits
• Understand and demonstrate the Journeys culture

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Prior retail management experience preferred
• 6-12 months retail sales experience
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment
• Willingness to learn
• Completion of training programs leading to Co-Manager position
• Ability to work 45 hours per week
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts
• Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Stand for long periods of time
• Must be at least 18 years of age*
