JOB SUMMARY
Assist Store Manager and Manager In Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel to achieve sales goals, control expenses, and protect company assets.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance
- Assist in recruiting and hiring high caliber employees
- Assist in training and developing a successful sales team
- Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees
- Ensure all company initiatives are properly implemented
- Recognize and develop talented staff for growth within the company
- Supervise daily store operations in absence of Store Manager and Manager In Training
- Supervise Loss Prevention practices in absence of Store Manager and Manager In Training
- Effectively communicate all store needs
- Resolve customer issues effectively
- Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers
- Complete bank deposits
- Understand and demonstrate the Journeys culture
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Prior retail management experience preferred
- 6-12 months retail sales experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment
- Willingness to learn
- Completion of training programs leading to Co-Manager position
- Ability to work 45 hours per week
- Ability to work night and weekend shifts
- Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand for long periods of time
- Must be at least 18 years of age*
