As a Risk Management Advisor, you will plan, coordinate and document the project risk management process. Using your strong facilitation and quantitative analysis skills, you will ensure that risks are identified, evaluated, quantified, mitigated and monitored following corporate policies and procedures. You will work with functional areas to identify business areas that can be improved to increase efficiency and strengthen business processes.
This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.
Your role within the team:
- Risk Workshops:
- Lead risk identification workshops with multiple levels of the project team.
- Work with management and joint venture partners to develop problem-solving risk mitigation strategies.
- Partner with project team to monitor risk mitigations.
- Work closely with planners to understand delivery expectations, identify potential risks, and link risks to schedule activities.
- Maintain a project risk register and ensure that the project risk profile is accurate and current.
- Risk Reporting & Quantitative Analysis:
- Analyze risk and safety data to determine trends and key areas of focus.
- Strengthen risk reporting using statistical analysis.
- Prepare internal and external progress reports for multiple stakeholders.
- Generate lessons learned reports relating to risks.
- Conduct risk evaluation using both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods.
- Risk Management Process Activities:
- Own the proposal/project risk management process and prepare risk management plans.
- Liaise with the Engineering Risk and Insurance group to establish an insurable risk profile.
- Provide risk management training when required.
- Continuously look for improvements to the risk management process.
- Support the team during project peer reviews.
- Administer the project risk management process and prepare risk management plans.
- Implement risk management activities in compliance with best business practice and corporate procedures.
- Utilize corporate systems and tools to support processes.

The ideal candidate:
- 3-5 years of experience in risk management and 8 years of combined experience in the Engineering and Construction industry, in roles such as Project Management, Contract Management, Engineering Management, Project Controls Management, or Procurement Management.
- High degree of proficiency with tools like Excel and Power BI to analyze large data sets.
- Experience with software suites like @Risk from Palisade, Active Risk Manager (ARM), Acumen, and/or Primavera risk analysis (PRA).
- Previous experience on a mega project (+$1 billion, P3 projects).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
- Persuasive strength with ability to motivate and lead.
- Excellent facilitation skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
