Who we're looking for:

Rogers Sports & Media is seeking an experienced, results-oriented Operations Scheduler to join our team on a Temporary (18 month Contract) basis. Reporting to the Manager Operations, and based in our 33 Dundas St East & 333 Bloor Street east headquarters. This individual will be responsible for providing assistance to the Manager and a variety of Operations and Production teams.

What you'll do:

  • Determine and execute work schedules based on production requirements, established policy, union and legal guidelines
  • Develop and maintain shift rotations for various production departments
  • Respond to calls, potentially after hours and on weekends, to deal with scheduling emergencies and report accordingly to management
  • Verify staffing requirements against current schedule to ensure adequate coverage for illness, approved leave of absences, vacation, and statutory holidays
  • Ensure overtime is not incurred without the approval of management
  • Work with Managers to resolve scheduling issues and concerns
  • Ensure schedules are published within agreed upon timelines
  • Ensure that work hours and related data entries are accurate and generate time reporting information for payroll processing
  • Keep accurate records of lieu and vacation days, and other documentation as required
  • Assist with the achievement of labour targets and overall cost effectiveness by reviewing current employee work schedules and determining any potential opportunities of improved efficiency
  • Perform other related duties as required

What you bring:

  • Television Production and/or office administration experience is an asset
  • Previous scheduling experience is an asset
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work with multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong planning skills
  • Able to work both independently as well as collaborate as a team
  • Strong time management skills
  • Disciplined work ethic

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week.
