We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Engineer-In-Training to join our Victoria team as a Project Associate. This role offers the opportunity to grow and develop alongside experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful projects.

Position Overview

As a Project Associate, you will support and collaborate with Project Managers and Principals on a variety of restoration, capital planning and new construction projects. You will engage in all aspects of our work, from investigation and design to construction review and administration, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the success of our projects.

General Responsibilities

• Marketing: Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers.
• Knowledge Development: Enhance your understanding of standards, building codes, and industry practices while sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.
  
  

Technical Responsibilities

• Service Delivery: Provide accurate, organized, and timely information to support the team and maintain schedules.
• Proposals: Assist in developing scopes of work and fee proposals based on client needs.
• Investigations/Evaluations: Plan and perform site investigations, which may involve accessing attics, crawl spaces, or rooftops, and prepare detailed evaluation reports.
• Design: Draft scopes of work, specifications, and design drawings for restoration projects. Conduct building enclosure related design reviews for new construction projects.
• Tendering: Coordinate bid processes, prepare addenda, and evaluate contractor submissions.
• Construction Review: Conduct site visits to monitor construction quality and progress, document findings, and provide direction as needed.
• Contract Administration: Assist with contract preparation, invoice reviews, and certification of completion.
• Project Management: Attend site meetings, provide updates to clients, and monitor project budgets and schedules.
• Capital Planning: Conduct reserve fund studies, building condition assessments, capital plans, performance audits and warranty reviews for condominiums, multi-residential, institutional, commercial, retail and industrial properties.
  
  

Salary Range

• $70,000 - $90,000 a year plus bonus subject to performance
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Science or Applied Science; or Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
