The Department of Sociology and Anthropology provides an established and distinctive program of undergraduate and graduate studies that provides rigorous foundational and disciplinary training, in an environment that fosters critical thinking, creative pedagogy, experiential learning and interdisciplinary collaboration.

We offer one of the few truly interdisciplinary joint sociology and anthropology departments in North America, with our interdisciplinarity boldly displayed in the curriculum structure of both the undergraduate and graduate programs.

About the Role

The Undergraduate Advisor is the first point of contact for potential and current undergraduate students interested in studying Sociology, Anthropology and/or Labour Studies. Specifically, the Advisor is responsible for providing undergraduate program advising, representing the department/program at recruitment events, administering/supporting undergraduate curriculum review and development, and participating in course planning activities and course scheduling.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive and demonstrates an excellent ability to exercise mature judgment while communicating with tact and diplomacy. The ability to prioritize work while showing attention to detail is also instrumental to the success of this role.
