What Opportunity Awaits?

As we continue to grow, Libro is on a mission to find a passionately accountable full-time Vice President, Software Development supporting our London Administration office.

The Vice President of Software Development is a visionary and strategic leader responsible for overseeing the software development function of the credit union. This role will drive innovation, align technology initiatives with business goals, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions. The VP will lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and champion best practices in software engineering and development operations.

The primary software solutions at Libro are the Ovation banking system which is built on the Wealth Banking Developer Kit (WBDK) a “C” language based solution, and Libro’s in-house built digital banking solutions.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Develop and execute the software development strategy in alignment with the credit union’s overall technology and business objectives.
  • Lead innovation initiatives to enhance owner experiences and operational efficiency through advanced software solutions.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing software development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear direction, set performance objectives, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions, ensuring high quality, scalability, and security.
  • Implement and promote best practices in Agile methodologies, DevOps, and software lifecycle management.
  • Manage software development budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners, ensuring they align with the credit union’s goals and deliver value.

  • Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Understanding the solutions and technologies in the Canadian banking eco-system.
