Optometric Assistant / Optician

Eyecare Niagara is looking for a full-time Certified Optometric Assistant or Optician to join our team. Our fast-paced, multi-doctor office has deep roots within the community, as we have been in practice for over 25 years. We pride ourselves on exceptional eye care, a dedicated patient experience, and designer eyewear to fit all of our patient needs.

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player, who has excellent communication skills and experience in the eye care industry. They would also possess high attention to detail with the ability to work both independently and within a team. We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of the latest frames and lenses, who knows current fashion trends, and is able to multitask in a busy environment. Work hours include Monday through Friday with one evening shift. Wage would reflect experience and qualifications related to this role.

Some of the skills and qualities that we are looking for are as follows:

• Contact lens training
• Frame selection & lens recommendation
• Patient education
• Frame repairs and adjustments
• Verifying spectacle orders
• Frame board management and meeting with industry reps
• Assist with front desk and pretesting when needed
