Facilities and Fleet’s purpose and function as enterprise asset managers of all Eastlink buildings (electronic, depots, retail, and offices), building systems, grounds and roads are accountable to ensure investment optimization, delivering the desired results with the lowest investment, while fully supporting the business objectives and priorities. As asset managers, this function group must maintain existing facilities, plan, and develop new facilities or facility improvements to support network resilience and business growth.
This role is accountable for planning, management and delivery of projects located at existing electronics facilities and infrastructure including replacement of Headend buildings, HVAC systems, generators, fuel systems, UPS systems, and equipment monitoring. This position plays a leadership role within the Facilities team leading end of life replacement initiatives and working with other Departments to deliver against the priorities of the organization. The Asset Project Manager is responsible for projects of various sizes and will be comfortable working independently on projects of various complexities. The incumbent will have highly developed communication skills and will be an expert at managing issues and risks, as well as identifying opportunities. They will be flexible and highly adaptable while at the same time process driven and pay close attention to details. In addition, this role must plan for responding to unplanned events as well as continuing to execute on the planned work. There is (approximately) a 60/40 split between time working in an office environment and in a field and operating environment. Working in the office involves planning, scheduling, analysis, and problem solving. Working in the field involves traveling to all facilities, inspecting & auditing, managing contractors, project oversight, meeting with customers and problem solving.
