RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Department / Research Program: IDIGH / CVIS

Under the immediate supervision of the clinical researcher Dr. Alexandra de Pokomandy, the incumbent will be involved in study conduct of cohort studies aiming to improve primary care and reduce the consequences of viral diseases in marginalized populations.

General Duties

  • Assists in the planning/organization of research projects,
  • Recruits patients for research studies,
  • Obtains consent from patients for participation in research studies,
  • Complete interviews/questionnaires with participants via zoom, telephone or in person, and performs data entry,
  • Ensures follow-up of patient information,
  • Organizes documents necessary for study conduct in REDCap,
  • Completion of statistical analyses using data from research projects,
  • Drafting, editing, submission and follow-up of manuscripts for scientific publications,
  • Literature review,
  • Writing and editing of documents related to the project (funding applications, abstracts, scientific manuscripts, questionnaires, newsletters, etc.),
  • Liaise with external collaborators,
  • Assistance with administrative tasks, meetings and organization of knowledge transfer activities,
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Field of Study: Sciences, health or related field

Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience.

Required Skills

  • Bilingual, excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Autonomous, flexible, sense of ethics and good judgment,
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritizing time sensitive issues,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision,
  • Ability to generate and maintain accurate records,
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills,
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment where several people are working on a variety of projects,
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new situations,
  • Experience in clinical research is an asset,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel and Outlook,
  • Proficiency using REDCap is an asset,
  • Excellent statistical analysis skills using R or Stata is an asset.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and work experience. $43,316.00- $80,425.80.

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm

Work Site: 5252 boul. de Maisonneuve
