The Project Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting Type One Energy's mission to revolutionize energy production by managing complex projects within the fusion energy sector. The successful candidate will oversee project schedules, budgets, and risk management, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize project performance. This role requires advanced skills in automation, statistical analysis, and specialized project management tools, with a focus on driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement across multiple projects.

This role requires advanced skills in automation, statistical analysis, and specialized project management tools, with a focus on driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverables for complex, high-stakes projects within the fusion energy sector.
- Create and manage risk registers, conduct FMEA risk assessments, and implement risk mitigation strategies using tools like LogicGate and RiskyProject.
- Utilize advanced statistical methods and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, SQL) to analyze project data and optimize key performance metrics. Design custom dashboards in PowerBI for real-time project monitoring.
- Automate project processes using tools such as Power Automate, PowerApps, and custom scripts (e.g., JavaScript/Apps Script/Power Fx). Develop automated systems for documentation, purchasing, and other operational workflows.
- Configure and manage project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, JIRA, Smartsheet) to meet project requirements and enhance team collaboration. Integrate these tools with platforms like Confluence and SharePoint.
- Oversee the timecard system tailored to the organization’s needs. Ensure accurate and timely entry of employee work hours, monitor data quality, trouble soot discrepancies, and resolve issue promptly.
- Develop and customize reports to meet specific departmental needs or management requests, such as cost tracking, schedule health check
- Lead initiatives to improve project management processes, gather team feedback, and implement enhancements based on data analysis.
The successful candidate must have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the fusion energy sector or a related high-technology industry, with expertise in managing complex technical projects and understanding project management practices specific to engineering or energy-related fields.
- At least 2 years of experience in advanced Excel, with expertise in data management and analysis, complex formulas and calculations, pivot tables and charts, data automation and Validation.
- At least 2 years of experience using advanced project management software, including Primavera P6, JIRA, LogicGate, and Smartsheet, with demonstrated capability in configuring these tools to meet project requirements.
- At least 2 years of experience in automating workflows using tools such as Power Automate, PowerApps, or custom scripts (e.g., JavaScript/Apps Script).
- At least 2 years of experience in data analysis using programming languages like Python, MATLAB, or SQL, with proficiency in creating data visualization dashboards using PowerBI.
- At least 2 years of experience in risk management, including performing FMEA risk assessments, developing risk mitigation strategies, and managing risk registers for high-stakes projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead process improvement initiatives and train team members on specialized tools and techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Data Science, or a related field.
