Key Responsibilities

Hockey Development:

  • Develop, manage, and execute hockey programs, including the Victoria Jr. Royals, youth camps, clinics, and school initiatives, to promote hockey development and engagement within the community.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Victoria Royals and local minor hockey associations, fostering strong relationships and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
  • Attend minor hockey tournaments, events and games in evenings and weekends.
  • Oversee the delivery of on-ice and off-ice hockey programming, ensuring a high-quality experience for all participants.
  • Recruit, train, and manage coaching volunteers for hockey development programs.
  • Work with the Royals' marketing and hockey operations team to promote hockey development initiatives across various platforms.
  • Hockey operations projects as assigned (coaching, scouting, etc.).

Ticket Sales and Community Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the ticket sales team to promote Royals games to hockey program participants and local hockey associations.
  • Drive ticket sales through relationships built in hockey programming, with an emphasis on group sales and team outings.
  • Assist in planning and executing hockey-themed game nights and other initiatives designed to attract local hockey players, teams, and families to Royals games.
  • Track and report ticket sales generated through hockey development efforts to ensure sales goals are met.

Program Operations and Administration:

  • Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, facility bookings, equipment, and registration.
  • Manage budgets for hockey development programs, ensuring cost-effective delivery while maintaining program quality.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from participants to improve programs and identify new opportunities for growth.

Qualifications:

  • Proven success in hockey coaching, customer relations, with a preference for experience in sports-related industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with players, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hockey schedule.
  • Previous hockey playing experience is an asset.
