We’re looking for a full-time Signaling & Communications Technician @ Ottawa site, could it be you?

Your future role

As a Signaling & Communications Technician, you will provide technical expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting assets on the signaling and communication subsystem of the line (CBTC, CCTV, PA, PIDS, IAC, SCADA, network, phone, access control, signaling, server room, etc.) to ensure the safety, availability and reliability of the Line Subsystems conforming to specified Quality procedures.

The S&C Technician supports a 7-day week rail operation, working rotating shifts, on a continuous seven-day cycle mostly performing field work and sometimes on powered equipment.

The starting hourly rate is $31.83 and increases to $34.63 after the 9-month probation period.

While interacting daily with co-workers, external suppliers, and management, all activities will be performed in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as prescribed by legislation and the ALSTOM Health & Safety policies.

You’ll specifically take care of

  • Complying with and enforcing EHSS policies and rules
  • Performing inspections, maintenance, and complex troubleshooting repairs on line subsystem
  • Monitoring of incoming work orders and reporting all activities in the Maintenance Management database
  • Field Modifications implementation
  • Participating in the maintenance of some other assets (ventilation, security assets, pumps, switches etc.)

We’ll look to you for

  • On time incident resolution as well as closing all Work Orders punctually and accurately.
  • Understanding As-built drawings
  • Supervising and/or following any sub-contract activities
  • Actively participating in Emergency Preparedness and to the rescue/corrective operations in case of Accident or Major failure

  • EHS champion and field experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and computer skills
  • License G mandatory - Other license (truck/trailer etc.) desirable
