Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Superintendent, Project Engineering on a permanent basis on our Technical Services team. This position requires on site work and is based in Regina, SK.


In this role you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and oversight of our project engineering teams who manage a diverse portfolio of projects, from essential maintenance turnarounds to transformative capital initiatives. With an annual project budget of $75M–$150M, you’ll drive the planning, engineering, and construction efforts critical to ensuring regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and long-term value for the Co-op Refinery Complex.


What you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic oversight to Project Leads, Engineers, and technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, resource availability, and fostering a collaborative culture with senior leadership and department teams.
  • Drive tactical planning and execution of capital expenditure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, adherence to KPIs, and compliance with engineering and safety standards.
  • Oversee project engineering activities, ensuring adherence to recognized good engineering practices, collaborating on site standards, and staying current on evolving technologies and industry codes.
  • Manage contractor performance by reviewing execution plans, progress reports, and safety compliance while ensuring construction activities are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Champion safety initiatives, promote safety awareness, and integrate process safety management into all project designs and implementations to mitigate risks and improve performance.

The Team: Reporting to the Director – Technical Services, you will work closely with our engineering, project management and construction teams. This team strives to cultivate a culture of autonomy, collaboration and innovation.


The Collaborators: You will work closely with other functions in our Manufacturing business unit and collaborate across the organization with teams such as Process, Maintenance & Reliability and HSSE.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Engineering & Engineering Technology and:

  • Have 10+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience, with duties associated with project management and construction of large industrial projects.
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
  • Membership or Eligibility for Membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) as a Professional Engineer.
  • Experience in the petroleum refining industry is preferred.
