The Opportunity

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing internal (employee) and external (recruitment) communications content and contributing to programs that actively engage internal audiences across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications and Content, the Internal Communications Specialist translates business strategies into key messages, develops appropriate internal communications initiatives in support of those strategies, and executes programs that create excitement, drive engagement, align teams and shape culture.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to execute communications plans, strong writing skills, and a natural ability to think strategically while delivering tactical results. This role works with Euna Solutions’ senior management and internal teams (including but not limited to Human Resources, Recruiting, Professional Development, and Marketing) to communicate new information and promote the company’s special strengths and values.

This position is a 6-month contract covering a maternity leave. This position will be hybrid with 3 days/week in our Oakville, ON or Atlanta, GA office.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Messaging: Help create a best-in-class internal communications function across the company that fuels employee engagement, influences connectivity and culture, and positively impacts all departments. Messaging and supporting materials must be high quality, accurate, appropriate, and integrated with the company’s priorities and themes.
  • Writing: Assist in writing and editing impactful and engaging content that effectively describes and promotes diversity & inclusion, recruitment, professional development, corporate announcements, town hall gatherings, human resources and other programs and initiatives in support of corporate goals and culture.
  • Manage intranet: Manage content for the global company intranet, ensuring that it is up-to-date, engaging, and informative.
  • Communication materials and channels: Develop communication materials using a variety of tactics (written communications, presentation materials, Microsoft Teams and other platforms, town halls, small group meetings, etc.) to articulate key messages. Work with appropriate personnel to create and maintain content for employee communication channels and partners with the broader Marketing, Human Resources, and IT teams to explore/recommend new channels or technologies where possible.
  • Brand Champion: Use internal tools as appropriate to maximize the company’s internal communication effectiveness and ensure consistent messaging, branding, imagery, identity, and tone of voice.
  • Internal Events: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of internal employee events as needed and appropriate.
  • Reporting: Implement metrics reports to measure effectiveness of internal communication channels, with the goal of continuously improving internal communications strategy to reach and engage employees.

  • Possesses outstanding oral and written communications skills including superior writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and develop solutions that meet the business needs of our organization.
  • Excellent project management skills – must encompass organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality results on-time and on-budget.
  • Highly motivated, persuasive, priority-driven and collaborative.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups.
  • Consistently demonstrates strong business acumen and judgment. Respects and adheres to the importance of confidentiality in the workplace.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to build relationships and collaborate across the broader Marketing, Human Resource, and IT teams.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with partners and staff at all levels.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant communications experience; work experience in a B2B, fast-growing or large-scale technology firm strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in writing and editing marketing content; experience with web and digital content preferred.
  • Nice to have but not required: Experience managing branded social media accounts, blog writing, and proficiency with SharePoint and HTML-based content management systems.
