Do you have a passion for moving large heavy objects? Irving Equipment Limited is seeking skilled Operators to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and play a critical role in the success of our projects. In this role, you will operate SPMT in a variety of configurations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability in all moving operations.

SPMT Operations

  • Safely assemble, operate, and disassemble SPMT with pickers, boom trucks, crawlers, and hydraulic cranes.
  • Lift and move heavy materials and equipment based on job requirements.

Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and contribute to ongoing safety initiatives.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Report any mechanical or operational issues promptly.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with supervisors, mechanics, and team members to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to align on project goals.

Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Education

  • Mobile Crane Operator Trade Certification and Red Seal will be an asset.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience operating various types of heavy hauling.

Certifications

  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations in crane operations.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on safety.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada & USA as needed.
