Are you an experienced crane operator with a passion for safety and precision? Irving Equipment Limited is seeking skilled Crane Operators to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and play a critical role in the success of our projects. In this role, you will operate a variety of cranes, including crawler and hydraulic cranes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability in all lifting operations.
Crane Operations
- Safely assemble, operate, and disassemble cranes, including pickers, boom trucks, crawler, and hydraulic cranes.
- Lift and move heavy materials and equipment based on job requirements.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Actively participate in safety programs and contribute to ongoing safety initiatives.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Report any mechanical or operational issues promptly.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with supervisors, mechanics, and team members to complete tasks efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to align on project goals.
Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Education
- Mobile Crane Operator Trade Certification and Red Seal required.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience operating various types of cranes.
Certifications
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license and crane operator certification/license.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations in crane operations.
- Physical strength, stamina, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.
- Attention to detail and a focus on safety.
- Willingness to travel within Atlantic Canada as needed.
