JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain the security of the employees, visitors, and assets of the Signet/ Canadian DC office. Under general supervision, assist department in the daily administration of the Security Operations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Control and monitor general access to company grounds and facilities
• Maintain security system records to provide access authorization for active employees
• Monitor the issuance and use of temporary access badges
• Monitor all entrances/exits from building and grounds covered by remote camera equipment
• Assist and screen persons who have been denied access to grounds or buildings
• Conduct periodic patrol of grounds and facilities
• Control and monitor access to restricted security areas
• Ensure all employees working in restricted areas follow established scanning and property control procedures
• Use hand-held scanning equipment as needed to clear employees and guests for entrance to and exit from restricted areas
• Maintain records of guests and visitors to restricted areas
• Ensure guests in restricted areas are accompanied at all times
• Ensure all security equipment is operating properly. Conduct periodic tests of equipment and system alarms. Report malfunctions and ensure appropriate control until repairs are made.
• Respond to emergency needs. Respond to alarms on designated company vehicles.
• Provide emergency medical assistance as needed
• Contact local fire, police, or emergency services for assistance when needed
• Maintain incident reports on all emergency responses
• Provide secured transportation of merchandise to and from local area stores as needed

• Demonstrate the ability to remain calm in stressful, confrontational, and potentially dangerous situations
• Demonstrate effective reading and writing skills

• Demonstrate careful attention to work processes
• Must be familiar with OSHA regulations

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a security environment

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Must have current certifications in CPR, AED and Security Guard License Certification or ability to secure these required certifications
• This position requires a great deal of walking, up to 75% of workday may be required. May be required to lift over 50 pounds.
• General office conditions with the possibility of being involved in potentially dangerous situations surrounding the job.
