Manager, Program and Curriculum Excellence

The Manager, Curriculum and Program Excellence ensures the academic quality of NAIT’s programs through rigorous evaluation, curriculum support, and oversight of quality improvement initiatives. This role manages a team supporting program and curriculum reviews, provides guidance on academic policy and standards, and collaborates with institutional stakeholders to align programming with evolving educational and workforce needs. Reporting to the Director, Program Quality, the Manager also oversees curriculum management systems, contributes to institutional reporting, and supports strategic initiatives that enhance program effectiveness and student mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
Institutional Quality Framework
- Supports the implementation of a quality framework aligned with NAIT’s academic goals.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure compliance with academic standards and policies.
- Recommends academic standards, policies, and procedures for curriculum and program quality.
Program Evaluation
- Manages program reviews and recommends improvements.
- Oversees the development of processes to support student mobility pathways.
- Oversees research to guide strategic academic programming decisions.
- Leads implementation of academic initiatives, applying change management strategies to support program evaluation, curriculum enhancement, and policy alignment.
Administration and Staffing
- Oversees government program records and serves as the primary lead for the curriculum management system.
- Allocates resources and tracks project performance to meet organizational goals.
- Provides regular project updates.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, program evaluation, and continuous improvement strategies in post-secondary education.
- Experience with program evaluation methodologies, quality assurance processes, and institutional reporting.
- Familiarity with academic technologies used for curriculum tracking, program documentation, and institutional reporting.
- Strong understanding of academic policies, credential frameworks, and regulatory requirements, including those set by the Campus Alberta Quality Council (CAQC).
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate program effectiveness, identify challenges, and propose improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
- Ability to conduct research, analyze academic and institutional data, and generate insights to inform decision-making.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead multiple initiatives concurrently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education preferred. Other degrees with educational components (e.g., curriculum development, instructional design) or degrees in combination with a certificate in adult learning or higher education may be considered in lieu of an education degree.
- Graduate degree from the field of education is an asset.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $99,247.46 – $131,487.46 annually based on education and experience.
