BI Data Analyst

At HearingLife Canada, we believe in Life-Changing Hearing Health. Our mission? Helping More People Hear Better. We are seeking a motivated BI Data Analyst to join our Data & Systems team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the existing data infrastructure that our executive team depends on for key insight to run the business. You will also collaborate with our Marketing, Finance, and Sales teams to generate business insights and process improvements. You will work closely with the Data to ensure the accuracy of our data and the effectiveness of our reporting systems.

How You'll Make An Impact

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Collaborate with data owners and subject matter experts to gather necessary documentation, ensuring it is up-to-date, clear, and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Complete projects on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
  • Resolve support tickets efficiently, adhering to SLAs and minimizing downtime for users.

Power BI

  • Develop data models, and design new reports as needed based on business requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of data accuracy and troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Maintain and performance-tune our Power BI datasets to optimize system efficiency.

Database Management

  • Ongoing development and performance-tuning of our SQL databases to support data storage and retrieval needs.
  • Maintain SQL triggers, views, and stored procedures.

ETL Processes

  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory to ensure seamless data integration and transformation.

Data Analysis

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support decision-making.
  • Create effective predictive models for use and reporting.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, economics or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience using Power BI or a similar BI platform (Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.).
  • Strong command of analysis tools, such as Python with libraries like NumPy and Pandas.
  • Experience with Excel and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience with data warehouse and data marts.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a solid understanding of relational data models, data analysis, DAX, ETL concepts, SQL, and performance optimization. Strong communication skills. English fluency is required.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and work within tight deadlines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform an asset.
  • Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum an asset.
