Role and Facility Information

Kamloops is a vibrant city of 100,000, at the northern extension of productive wine country in south central British Columbia. We sit in the middle of lakes, mountains, ski hills, and river systems. The Kamloops Urgent & Primary Care Centre sees patients who might normally go to a family doctor or nurse practitioner for their ailment, if an appointment had been available. Patients will typically be seen by a physician, but they may also be seen by a physiotherapist, a nurse, a social worker or other clinician, depending on the nature of their injury or illness.

There is team-based care available by referral at the Urgent & Primary Care Centre for non-life threatening illnesses or injuries that need same-day care. This is a not a walk-in clinic.

Exciting family physician opportunity in Kamloops at the Urgent Primary Care Centre (UPCC)!

As a General Practice Physician, you will work with members of the care team at the Kamloops Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC). This state of the art clinic will provide longitudinal, urgent, and episodic care to the community of Kamloops. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians to work as part of an interprofessional team.

The UPCC team consists of family physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurse team lead, primary care registered nurses (RNs), social workers (SWs), medical office assistants (MOAs), and a dedicated operational manager. The team will focus on members of the general population with non-life threatening illnesses or injuries who need access to same-day care, including those who are unattached.
