What You’ll Do

Purpose of the role

The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the business plan through content creation and internal communication towards Support office colleagues, Partners and Store teams. This is delivered through a communications strategy designed to include both internal and in-store stakeholders localized to the relevant provinces.

Supporting stakeholders across the business, and reporting into the Head of Communications, the Communications Specialist helps to ensure that all activities and change affecting our Support office colleagues, Partners and Store teams are communicated in a timely, engaging, consistent and informative manner, all of which needs to be developed and delivered in an effective, collaborative and digitally led way.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Communication

  • Support the Head of Communications with the execution of communication strategies for Internal and Store communications, with a focus on people-related topics.
  • Ensure that all communication is delivered to a high standard, ensuring all key stakeholders are clear and informed.
  • Support internal stakeholders with content creation regardless of channel, e.g. writing, editing, visuals, video production, coordination etc.
  • Co-develop and manage our communication channels and tools through content monitoring and publisher training.
  • Be responsible for the creation of weekly roundup emails for internal communication platforms.
  • In collaboration with the HR team and leaders, announce new employees and changes in the organization.
  • In general, support the team with all communication related tasks.

Events

  • Organize face-to-face meetings/events for Partners – from event preparation to delivery: sourcing venues, procuring quotes, managing contracts, catering and AV briefings, travel logistics, and liaising with internal teams as required.
  • Manage and support with content creation of online events for Partner and Store Colleagues.
  • Participant management of events, including registration, inquiries and feedback surveys.
  • Coordinate Support Office communication events, including weekly team huddles.

Brand Standards & Design

  • Ensure all materials are produced in line with Specsavers Group brand standards.
  • Responsible for the planning, coordination, and traffic management of design related projects.
  • Conduct design tasks such as editing existing designs, creating templates, cleaning up PowerPoint presentations and supporting in basic video editing and subtitling of videos.
  • Develop and share key templates for use across the business.

Essential

What We’re Looking For

  • 2 – 5 years of relevant communications experience
  • A good understanding of the business priorities and initiatives, particularly those of an impacting nature
  • Excellent planning and stakeholder management skills
  • A good understanding of digital communication tools
  • Basic visual design and video editing skills (Ideally Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
