As a Senior Associate, Transactions your responsibilities will include:

  • Assistance with the preparation of valuations of assets and business interests for a wide range of purposes, such as: mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, taxation, financial reporting, fairness opinions, management buy-outs, loss quantifications and shareholder disputes
  • Assistance with the preparation of complex financial models for the purpose of sourcing and obtaining financing opportunities for all aspects of business operations
  • Assistance in the preparation of confidential information memorandums and other transaction related documentation including buyers lists and compiling and managing electronic data rooms
  • Assistance with the preparation of due diligence reports, both buy-side and sell-side diligence
  • Assistance in the proposal process including research and writing first drafts of proposals
  • Support and assistance as part of a team assisting clients with aspects of the purchase and sale of a business
  • Conduct detailed industry research relating to the preparation of business valuations, due diligence and mergers and acquisitions engagements
  • Participation in various business development initiatives (internal and external) including research in support of pitches, proposals and new client prospects as well as attendance at various business development events

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Senior Associate, Transactions? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:

  • Post secondary education in a business-related field (degree, diploma or certificate)
  • Professional accounting designation required (i.e. CPA)
  • Previous accounting, corporate finance and/or banking experience
  • Currently enrolled or has an interest to pursue a secondary professional designation (example: CFA, CBV)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure with various teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with and develop mid-level to complex financial models and the ability to analyze and manipulate large volumes of data to gain key insights; experience in Tableau, although not required, would be considered an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Strong online research database skills (i.e. Capital IQ)
  • Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
  • A client-focused approach to work
  • Ability to generate creative solutions to abstract or undefined problems
  • Proficiency and comfort with financial statement concepts and a demonstrated ability for financial analysis
  • Demonstrated interest in all aspects of business and the Canadian business landscape
