Civil Design Engineer

Aplin has partnered with a land development firm in Calgary, AB, to find a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of civil infrastructure for subdivisions, including roadway alignments, earthworks, grading, stormwater management, sanitary and watermain systems, and erosion control measures. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to diverse projects while collaborating with a professional team in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed engineering designs using Autodesk Civil 3D, including alignments, profiles, corridors, and pipe networks.
• Work closely with CAD technologists to create engineering plans, construction drawings, and project-specific figures.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with local standards.
• Conduct and review engineering analyses, including earthworks studies, sanitary servicing evaluations, traffic noise assessments, and erosion and sediment control documentation.
• Support project execution by ensuring design accuracy, constructability, and adherence to project schedules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Technologist
• Minimum five years of experience in civil design for land development.
• Expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D for infrastructure design, including advanced features for dynamic CAD outputs.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality deliverables.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
