Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare orders for shipments, labeling, packaging, required documentation.
  • Record shipment data including weights and dimensions.
  • Coordinate with carriers to schedule shipments with the direction given.
  • Receive and unpack orders from vendors and intercompany shipments accurately and timely.
  • Notify the appropriate departments and people of any discrepancies or issues with shipped or received goods.
  • Complete shipping and receiving reports.
  • Operate a forklift and or overhead crane to move product.
  • Load/Unload and shipments from carriers ensuring loads are packaged safely and to prevent damage to the products.
  • General filing of paperwork.
  • Count, label, and shelve items accurately.
  • Complete electronic receipt of goods and confirmation of shipments.
  • Work towards maintaining a 98.5% on time shipping goal.
  • Ensure the proper storage in the warehouse of the product received.
  • Follow all proper safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively contribute to lean, quality and safety initiatives.
  • Able and willing to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high moving environment.
  • May require working in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • May involve standing for long periods and performing physical tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience):

  • High school diploma.
  • International shipping experience considered an asset.
  • Must have basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Outlook and ERP systems.
  • Required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as a 35lbs fitness-to-work test.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment considered an asset.
  • Forklift and skid steer operation experience considered an asset.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar or related role is considered an asset.

HSE Requirements (Training and Physical Ability Needs):

  • Shop environment orientation (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, propane storage) and yard environment (building locations, processes).
  • Squatting, bending, reaching, and walking (further details to be reviewed on JHA).
  • PPE training for possible noise exposure, mists/vapors, gloves, safety glasses and steel toed boots.
