Summary:

We are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our rapidly growing engineering organization. This role is for someone who is passionate about building innovative solutions and being exposed to new challenges and technologies while making an impact. This role is available to candidates across Canada, excluding Quebec.

To enable that experience, our development team strives to optimize our efforts on performance, reliability, scalability, and a beautiful and intuitive interface.

The back end infrastructure (BEI) team is an element of the Infrastructure arm of the Clio Engineering organization. Our primary goal is to drive the Clio development culture towards proactive maintenance of our languages, frameworks and dependencies to ensure the reliability, performance and security of Clio's platforms. Clio has some of the largest and longest running Ruby on Rails projects in the world which presents unique and interesting challenges as Clio continues to grow and scale.

What you'll work on:

  • Collaborate with a team of developers to tackle complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions for Clio’s customers.
  • Develop and maintain software in an agile environment, working alongside full-stack developers on a diverse range of projects.
  • Utilize a broad range of technologies, continuously expanding your skill set and embracing new challenges.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, working with engineering teams across three countries.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to uphold best practices and ensure high-quality code.
  • Write and deploy code in a test-driven development (TDD) environment, prioritizing reliability and maintainability.
  • Partner with teams across Clio to diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues, developing solutions that span multiple domains.
  • Foster a culture of learning by mentoring colleagues, sharing knowledge, and actively engaging in peer feedback to support professional growth.

The full salary range* for this role is $110,200 to $129,600 to $149,000 CAD.Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

  • We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
