Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Category Development, the Senior Category Analyst is responsible for developing actionable category insights to drive wine category growth and help establish Arterra Wines Canada as an indispensable partner with customers for all Category Development needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish category thought leadership by turning shopper, category and market insight into category stories to inform customers on category trends; shopper profiles; how to capitalize on category growth opportunities and execute category solutions such as assortment, shelving, planogram recommendation and merchandising principles.
  • Owning and cultivating independent category development relationship with customer senior leadership across the country (Liquor Board/ Grocery / Private Retailers / C&G / On Premise) and establish AWC as the indispensable partner for all Category Development needs.
  • Proactively create, develop, and deliver category updates to empower customers with in-depth wine category knowledge to guide their strategic choice and tactical execution
  • Provide category, channel, and shopper insights to support cross-functional teams on strategy development, new product presentation, joint business review etc. to delivery win-win-win category solutions that mutually benefit AWC, customers and consumers.
  • Leverage the analytics tools across the business to support ad hoc market, brand, channel, and customers analysis from internal stakeholders.
  • Provide training to internal stakeholders to improve their proficiencies in understanding and leveraging available business analytics tools.
  • Leverage third loyalty data and shopper analytic to determine shopper trends at key customers and find ways to grow penetration, baskets and trips that drive category growth for both customers and AWC.

Education

  • University Degree

Experience & Skills

  • 3 years in a similar role with preference to candidates with Consumer-Packaged Goods experience
  • Strong understanding of industry and category and shopper insight trends, frameworks and story-telling skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple projects and create structure and process where it does not currently exist
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Exceptional communications skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Questioning attitude and data curiosity.
  • Self-Starter with a bias for action.
  • Bilingual (English & French) is an asset.

Qualifications, Certifications Or Designations

  • Strong Excel skills, experience with Power BI, Canadian grocers data platforms (IRI, dunnhumby & LDIA), Numerator

Compensation: Budgeted Range – ($77,426.00 - $100,198.00) The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
