Position Overview:

Responsible for the disassembly, assembly, inspection, and testing of front struts, rear struts, and hoist cylinders.

Job Description:

• Disassemble components, accurately complete the associated inspection, and assemble components in compliance with required specifications
• Identify the required scope of repairs, parts, and remanufacturing process
• Demonstrate proficient use of micrometers and other measuring devices
• Perform, and document, final inspection and function test results
• Analyze the cause of cylinder failures and prepare supporting documentation for failure analysis technicians
• Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of production equipment used in the department in accordance with equipment maintenance log
• Operate in compliance with ISO 9001:2000 policy and procedures; report non-conformances to the Production Manager
• Attend internal or external training sessions as required
  
  

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 3 or higher.  Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered. (Internal applicants)
• Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C. (Internal applicants)
• Previous experience with hydraulic cylinders is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions. 
• Ability to work unsupervised efficiently and be part of a team environment.
• Competency in a machine shop environment is preferred.
• Previous experience in a heavy-duty equipment facility is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
• Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.
• Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures.
  
  

Note:

• This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday – Thursday - 10 hours per day
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
