What You Will Experience In This Position

  • Responsible for achievement of the sales quota in Southwest Ontario, which is made up of Mississauga (west Toronto), westward through Kitchener, London, and Sarnia with some activity north through Listowel up to Owen Sound.
  • Maintain relationships with customers and distributors to understand their requirements and develop appropriate solution(s) to best meet their needs
  • Support the business through the generation of new growth accounts while maintaining and developing existing accounts
  • Continuously scan for prospects with current or new customers to achieve new sales, expand offerings within the account, and populate account pipeline consistently and on a timely basis
  • Implement a sales strategy that focuses on channel, end-users, and installers that enables territory management and sales growth
  • Provide continual updates via CRM Salesforce on the account and conversion status of target accounts
  • Provide reporting, and forecasting for business planning purposes
  • Provide extensive product and solutions training for customers and distributors
  • Respond to customer issues and provides follow-up to ensure resolution
  • Understand current market relationships and partnerships with customers and distributors and maintain knowledge of competitors’ activities throughout assigned territory
  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned

You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree or applicable sales experience
  • Ideally 5+ years in an outside sales role in an electrical, commercial, datacom, utility, or industrial markets
  • Ability to work 100% from a home office and travel as needed in the sales territory of Southwest Ontario. The majority of the travel will be day travel with intermittent overnight travel. A valid driver's license is required
  • Ability to leverage a CRM system, preferably salesfource.com
  • Knowledge and understanding of selling through a distribution/channel model with skills associated with selling to multiple types of customers, including distributors, consultants, engineers, end users, OEMs, MROs, and contractors
  • Skills in balancing multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Skills to develop and deliver effective presentations and proposals
  • Ability to leverage partnerships to drive the strategic plan. Consistently demonstrates alignment with organizational strategy to advance opportunities
  • Ability to negotiate by collaborating with others to arrive at a conclusion using value propositions, compromise, persuasion, influence, rationale, and diplomacy both internally and externally in a selling environment
