Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a technical field, or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills, oral, and written communication
- Basic proficiency with Excel and other Office Suite programs
- Strong background of mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and outside normal business hours
- Work well in a team environment and able to work toward common goals
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively organize workload and manage time
- Ability to work under pressure under tight timelines
- Able to lift 50lb and perform manual labour
Day in the Life
The Corporate Technical Services Group supports the Miller Group of Companies by providing technical expertise, optimization, and innovation in asphalt and aggregate testing. The Cold Mix Technician plays a key role in conducting laboratory tests for cold recycling mix designs and quality control. They assist in maintaining safety documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards, and reviewing test results for accuracy. Responsibilities also include tracking research and development tests, maintaining equipment calibration, and investigating non-conformances. The role emphasizes ensuring an unbiased testing environment and adherence to quality regulations. Collaboration with the Lab Supervisor and Senior Technician is essential to meet testing and compliance objectives.
