PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Financial Analyst performs in-depth and complex financial and operational analysis. The incumbent gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts for management review.

The Financial Analyst performs in-depth and complex financial and operational analysis. The incumbent gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts for management review.
DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- Responsible for driving the FME Canada culture through values and customer service standards.
- Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
- Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare Business Profitability Assessments (BPA) based on Product, Customer, Contract or Request for Proposals.
- Perform monthly analysis of sales and cost of sales
- Assist in the annual budget process and quarterly forecast updates
- Assist in the month end close process, maintain corporate reporting files
- Review profitability/margins on products and services, suggest changes to pricing models
- Analyze the financial exposure related to inventory levels and slow-moving items on a quarterly basis
- Audit AR & AP setups and changes as part of internal controls
- Assist in the reconciliation of JIT service providers.
- Assist with freight reviews, provide information for weekly recaps for timely vendor payments
- Produce ad-hoc reports for QA, sales, marketing, and other departments as needed
- Develop, maintain, and implement SOP specific to responsibilities
- Support the standardization and optimization of local FP&A processes in a global FP&A process framework
- Other duties, reports or projects that may be assigned

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
- Professional Accounting Designation preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis
- Excellent computer skills with strong demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, presentations and email applications.
- Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and financial systems (SAP, AX Dynamics)
- General knowledge of IFRS and Internal controls
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, tasks and client conditions preferred
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to work under pressure in an organized manner
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
