Summer Library Assistant

Purpose:

This position provides a wide range of circulation and reserves services in the Peter F Bronfman Business Library, Scott Library and Steacie Science and Engineering Library from a public service desk in person, by telephone, and via the library's online system.

Education:

High school diploma.

Experience:

Some experience providing customer services to the public is preferable.

Skills:

• Ability to deal calmly and courteously with the public and with difficult patrons.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic keyboard skills.
• Basic cash handling.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Additional Notes:

• Ability to move, e.g., bending, reaching, and lifting library materials up to 20lbs when re-shelving books.
• Pushing and pulling loaded book trucks.
