Billing Representative
The Billing Representative plays a crucial role in supporting underwriters, brokers, and customers by responding to billing inquiries and performing billing transactions. This ensures efficiency, accuracy, and excellent customer service. This position focuses on first-line resolution of billing inquiries but also supports continuous improvement of billing processes. The role requires strong customer service, solutioning, and negotiation skills. This role requires a person who is self-motivated, innovative, and proactive, as the team will be responsible and accountable for billing service levels and contributing to the overall broker and customer experience.

Billing Representative
The Billing Representative plays a crucial role in supporting underwriters, brokers, and customers by responding to billing inquiries and performing billing transactions. This ensures efficiency, accuracy, and excellent customer service. This position focuses on first-line resolution of billing inquiries but also supports continuous improvement of billing processes. The role requires strong customer service, solutioning, and negotiation skills. This role requires a person who is self-motivated, innovative, and proactive, as the team will be responsible and accountable for billing service levels and contributing to the overall broker and customer experience.
What will you do?
- You will provide best in class customer service and serve as a primary point of contact for billing inquires across all lines of business.
- Guide brokers and customers on billing processes and procedures.
- You will complete various administrative billing tasks with attention to detail, examples include but are not limited to making payments, changing banking information, changes to payment plans, collections efforts, etc.
- Working as a collaborative team, you will design, implement and manage a service level and delivery model to contribute to the overall broker experience.
- Identify and implement changes required to the team’s service level and delivery model as needed.
- Support compliance efforts to ensure billing activities meet regulatory standards and company policies including but not limited to Payments Canada, Fair Treatment of Customers, FSRA, Insurance Act, Provincial Tax regulations, by alerting the BUCO of any gaps in the billing compliance framework.
- Support accurate documentation efforts and continuous process improvement by working with colleagues and identifying gaps.
- Completed a post secondary diploma at a college or university level.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service role or similar.
- Prior insurance experience or billing knowledge.
- Proficient in using Microsoft office, guidewire billing center and guidewire policy center.
