NAITs Insulator Program teaches students how to apply non-conductive materials to prevent and reduce the passage of heat, cold and sound on industrial, plumbing, heating and air conditioning equipment and makes students familiar with various types of insulation and applications.
The program also educates students how to repair different types of thermal and acoustical insulation, including calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam or fiberglass. Maybe you want more training on how to fit insulation around obstructions, or how to finish insulated surfaces with metal cladding or canvas as well as other subjects covered in the Insulator apprenticeship program at NAIT:
Weatherproofing with canvas jacketing, PVC, aluminum, stainless steel and mastic
Asbestos removal and abatement
Cutting, fabricating and installing fiberglass, mineral wool, foam glass, calcium silicate, polystyrenes and polyurethanes
The School of Construction and Building Sciences is seeking industry experts with a passion for student success to fill the role of instructors in the Insulator Apprenticeship program. Candidates should be willing to support student success in the program, have sound communication skills in both written and oral English, be comfortable with technology and be committed to student motivation and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive courses.
Prepare and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and exams.
Provide students with timely and constructive feedback. Ability to submit marks/records promptly.
Provide direct classroom/lab instruction while utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skill-building environment.
Mentor and advise students on academic and career goals.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
Stay current with industry trends and integrate relevant information into the curriculum.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience in the trade
Commercial and Industrial experience an asset
Supervisory experience considered an asset
Asbestos knowledge is considered an asset
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00 annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification – Instructor).
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement
